Celtic Confusion are a Dorset based Irish band, formed by classical violinist Gill Collins and talented
guitarist John Reeks, who met in 2004 whilst playing at various Irish music festivals in the south
west of England. They are joined by Richard Wirdnam, a highly experienced musician and singer who plays piano accordian
and is a well known musician and composer in his own right. Also, Cat Lake, an expert bodhran player / percussionist.
They were originally joined by Clive Jennings, a multi - instrumentalist who plays hammered dulcimer, bouzouki,
darabouka, whistles and other instruments no-one else wants to play plus Mike McDaid, an accomplished piano accordian
player, known for his love of jazz, who frequently introduces vibrant chords into his playing.
We are a lively bunch of musicians who thoroughly enjoy playing music for people who want to have fun.
Celtic Confusion play a mix of irish and scottish tunes. We play dance music, interspersed with slow airs to suit each occasion. We can play centre stage or else as background music. We can play as a 2, 3 or 4-piece band, varying the line-up of musicians to suit your function. We bring in our own dance caller if required to host a barn dance and can also provide an entertaining singer as required.
We have experience of playing at weddings, barn dances and pub gigs and from playing intimate bookings as well as large venues.
We are members of the Musician's Union.
Our aim is to enhance your occasion and for you to go home smiling!
